INTERVENTIONAL
RADIOLOGY
The confluence
where science and art meet,
intersecting with technology and love.
After graduating from Çukurova Medicine, during my compulsory service and then my military service, while working as an active and motivated emergency physician at a military hospital, I felt close to the radiology specialty due to my interest in photography. I also had a desire for surgery.
After my only choice of radiology, I completed an enjoyable specialty training in Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Radiology. My love for radiology increased during my residency, but my interest in surgery did not disappear, and these two interests were embodied in interventional radiology.
My constant curiosity and interest in abroad showed themselves at the very beginning of my specialization. I created an opportunity and worked with Dr. West General Hospital, Scotland. I worked with Sellar and saw the first GDC coil in my life. This visit shook me deeply in terms of the patient-physician relationship. While we were shouting in the corridors, silence and respect prevailed here.
